Thankful for a rough afternoon....

This afternoon we decided to take the older kids to the Plaza. We walked around with Ben, Jacob, Madeline and Sophia. We went into shops, the kids ate ice cream and Jacob and each of the kids found some specials items. We needed to head back as sweet Olivia would be needing Mom for her afternoon feeding. We got back to the car and started to get in when I heard my sissy screaming. I ran to her side of the vehicle and she was on the concrete in the street. I had no idea what happened but her keys were flew across the street and there she was. She seemed in pain and out of it. I helped her get up and got her to the curb. People came rushing to help. Wondering if we needed a ambulance. I asked her and she said she didn't know. She was holding her her face. A waiter from a nearby restaurant came running with a napkin and water to help. We called Michael and we decided I would drive us home and meet him there. It really was so scary. It was so sudden.

My sister is the mom to 6 children. 4 months-10years. Her hands and heart is full along with their quiver! She is nursing a baby and also just finished up physical therapy for her Achilles heal problem. This afternoon really was a miracle and there are so many things to be thankful for.

#1. She wasn't hit by a car.
#2. She seriously thought she had knocked out several teeth. When in reality she chipped one tooth.
3. She has a baby in her hands or arms a lot of the time but not this time.
4. She didn't injure her already hurt foot.
5. We had people rush to our side to offer help. She always jokes how NM is on their own time table (s-l-o-w) but this time they were fast!
6. She could have easily broken something and didn't. She has a bumped up, bruised and scraped face. Mostly her chin, cheek, nose and lip but it could have been much worse.
7. The dentist got her in within a hour. He said it could be repaired and is going to do that next week.
8. My sister said this evening thank God this happened at the end of your trip and not sooner. So true. We don't get to see each other often.

I know when my mom comes to visit she has said before it is hard to leave because there are so many needs with a large family and so many children. I can relate this time. We will be leaving for the airport tomorrow about 11:30 and apart of me will want to stay to be of help. I know the Lord will provide. She will be in my prayers.

Please pray for my sissy's healing and Gods provision. It was a rough afternoon but it could have been much worse. God is good. He is always faithful and loves us beyond what we can fathom.

I am so thankful for your sweet sister that it was not worse. Still, it sounds traumatic for her. I pray that her family will show extra special appreciation for her at this time and take as good a care for her as she does for them.

Melissa, if you read this, I have prayed for you and hope you are feeling better! Any sister of Julie's has to be just as priceless as she is!
